I’m Danny Ferrer, a Miami kid who learned this trade the hard way — wrangling certificates of insurance and freight-elevator reservations for Brickell condo moves before I ever owned a truck. Two things stuck with me from those years: exactly how a 26-footer threads a downtown loading dock, and how badly families get squeezed when the price rides on a clock that keeps ticking after the truck is full.
Why I opened this in 2011
The story never changed — nobody would commit to a real number before move day, and nobody would answer the phone in Spanish for my abuela’s neighbors. So in 2011 I built Preferred Moving Company around the opposite: size the job, write the flat price, sign it, stand behind it, and do it all bilingually. That’s the whole idea.
Who you’ll actually work with
We run 22 people, 18 of them on trucks any given day. Yesenia Marrero keeps the office humming — she books the calendar, chases down every building’s certificate of insurance, and handles billing, all in English or Spanish. Rafael Ortega works the daily truck board across Miami-Dade. On the crew, Andre Beaumont leads our Brickell and Aventura high-rise jobs and owns the COI-and-freight-elevator playbook, Wilkens Joseph runs the long-haul lane up the I-95 snowbird corridor, and Marcus Delgado handles our Coral Gables and Kendall single-family and full-pack moves.
